About Us
Made in the Shade is a family-owned custom window treatments business serving the Park Cities & East Dallas communities. David founded the company after a career in corporate technology sales because he wanted to build something local: a business that takes incredible care of its clients and creates jobs for talented installers and designers right here in the community.
We specialize in custom blinds, shades, shutters, draperies, motorized window treatments, and outdoor patio shades and awnings – including smart home integrations and energy-efficient solutions. We bring the showroom to you with a free in-home consultation, so you can see how light, room colors, and furnishings affect your choices in your own space. Every project is handled with personal attention from consultation to final installation – no call centers, no runaround, just a local team that shows up and does the job right.
David is a proud Ole Miss alum who has held leadership roles since his early college days. He and his wife Katie live in the Lakewood neighborhood with their chocolate lab Reese, a shelter rescue and unofficial company mascot. When he’s not helping clients, David enjoys golfing, camping, home projects, visiting with friends, and cheering on the Rebels.
